2 Pillars Church exists as a local body of Christ. We hold being a part of the body of Christ in high regard and continually call folks to commit to being a part of this body as we see it as a biblical principle to be living out the gospel in community and on mission.
As a church plant, we do not yet have formal membership. Instead, what we have is a Launch Team. Becoming a part of the Launch Team is currently how you commit to being a part of 2 Pillars Church. In the future, we will phase out the Launch Team and move towards formal membership at which time we'll ask everyone (Launch Team and non-Launch Team folks) to undergo a formal membership process.
Gospel Community Model of Ministry
We hold to a Gospel Community Model of ministry at 2 Pillars. What that means is that we have Gospel Communities that meet throughout the city throughout the week and then we simply come together to worship Jesus on Sunday morning. That's it. You can learn more about our Gospel Communities by checking out the Gospel Community Page of this site.
Entry Points
There are two entry points to 2 Pillars Church. One is what we call the Front Door. These are folks who hear about us somehow or another and show up at a Sunday morning gathering. While this is not the primary entry point that we focus on, we do recognize it as an entry point.
The second entry point is what we call the Side Door. Side Door entry happens through life connections and living on mission. As we live out the gospel in community and on mission, we invite people in to what God is doing here. Sometimes we invite that person into our Gospel Community. Other times we invite them straight-away into a Sunday morning gathering.

Mission and Vision Meeting
After coming through one of the entry points and feeling like 2 Pillars Church might be the kind of place you could call home, the next step is to attend one of our Mission and Vision Meetings. We currently hold these about once a month immediately following a Sunday worship gathering. This is a time where we cast broadly the mission and vision of 2 Pillars. If you are used to church-lingo, you can think of this as a "newcomers class." This is a time where we talk about who we are, what we do, how, and why. It's also a time for you to ask questions and meet some other folks that are also new to 2 Pillars. Finally, as a part of the Mission and Vision Meeting, we step you through the Launch Team Covenant Process which is how you become a part of the Launch Team, thus committing to 2 Pillars Church and making it your home
Launch Team Covenant
Launch Team Covenants are handed out in the Mission and Vision Meeting. They can also be found linked at the bottom of this page. We encourage folks to take these home, read them over, pray through them, ask questions, schedule a time with Pastor Todd to talk through any of those questions or concerns (if necessary), and then sign the covenant and return it to us.
Signing a Launch Team Covenant indicates that you are:
- Confident that God has called you to be a part of 2 Pillars Church.
- Willing to live out the core values of 2 Pillars Church.
- Willing to commit to being a part of a Gospel Community.
- Willing to give generously of your creativity, time, spiritual gifts, and income to fulfill the vision of 2 Pillars Church.
- Willing to wholeheartedly serve and support the mission of 2 Pillars Church.
Although the covenant is very specific about commitments, we are also a body of grace and understand, for example, if you are a college student who simply cannot give financially at this time. In cases like this, we encourage you to schedule a time to talk with Pastor Todd and work through that together. We do not want to allow something like that to come between you and a commitment to 2 Pillars Church.
In addition, the Launch Team Covenant requires that everyone read through our Statement of Faith (also linked at the bottom of this page). While we do not expect everyone to agree with every single thing on the Statement of Faith, we do require that you agree to not be divisive regarding it. If there are specific questions or concerns that you have after reviewing the Statement of Faith, again, please schedule a time with Pastor Todd to talk through those issues.
Becoming A Part of 2 Pillars
Once you have signed and returned a Launch Team Covenant, you are a part of 2 Pillars Church. Welcome aboard! We do require that everyone on the Launch Team complete a background check. This is because we require that everyone on the Launch Team (assuming you clear the background check) take a turn in serving in Little Pillars (our children's ministry). As a body we are a family and families have kids. Rather than seeking volunteers to serve, we are seeking a family to give. Part of this process also involves making sure we get you involved in a level you are comfortable with and that properly equips Little Pillars each week with gifted Leaders as well as helpers.
